Migraine Pain Relief
One of the worst pains a person can experience is a migraine headache, but medical doctors are introducing new medications to alleviate that pain. Here are five ways to help you get through that day pain free.
- Upper Cervical
Now, if you suffer from migraine headaches, there is a good chance you have heard of the first four. Those are drugs given to people who suffer from migraines. There may also be a chance you recognize the last one, but that one is a little less known than the first four.
Before we talk about this fifth option, let’s consider the negative side effects that can take place when someone who suffers from these debilitating headaches relies on them to relieve them of their pain.
Headache Medicine Negative Side Effects
- Tingling or burning sensations
- Dizziness or vertigo
- Weakness throughout the body
- Pain in the neck, jaw, or throat
- Abdominal pain

Upper Cervical and Migraine Relief
Of course, those are the negative side effects of the first four drugs, but they are not a side effect of the fifth option. That’s because the fifth one, upper cervical, is not a drug. It’s not even a medical treatment for migraine headaches or any other pain.
Despite a statement in the Journal of American Medical Association by neurosurgeon Dr. Emil Seletz that, “Headaches are not headaches at all but really a pain in the neck,” the medical community continues to insist on treating headaches by numbing the head.
Though, the fifth option, upper cervical chiropractic, has been shown to reduce the frequency and sometimes even eliminate migraines in thousands of patients rather than just covering symptoms.
They do this by correcting a common cause in the upper neck vertebrae. The top two vertebrae in a person’s neck are more susceptible to injury and misalignment than the rest of a person’s spine, and that misalignment can lead to chronic headaches.
When the top two vertebrae in a person’s neck is misaligned by only ¼ millimeter, a person does not receive the proper flow of blood or cerebral spinal fluid from the brain to the body. That’s because these travel from the brain to the body via the brainstem, but that misalignment cuts off their passageway. Upper Cervical chiropractic corrects that misalignment, so cerebral blood and cerebrospinal fluid can travel from the brain to the body.
